This book gets to the basic points quickly and provides excellent examples. The easy-to-understand and use worksheets are also very helpful. It gently, yet firmly, guides one through the process of understanding the reasons behind low self esteem and the process to getting better. Great for any level of understanding of basic psychology.

I am not in the field of psychology, but I did buy this as a self help book. You need to stay focused and think about what the author is saying, but there is no psycho-babble. Clearly written by someone who knows a lot about her subject. When it becomes apparent how these beliefs/opinions came into your thinking, you begin to learn how to chip away at them on your own.You do not need to have taken any courses in psychology to get the maximum benefit from this book.In my opinion.
